The Centre

CCGET is a temporary structure of INGV, established by resolution of the Board of Directors in 2025 and active until 31 December 2028, or until the outcome of the ET site selection process. The main administrative references are the Pisa and Bologna Sections.

The Centre is directed by a Coordinator — Carlo Giunchi (INGV Pisa) — and a Steering Committee bringing together experts in the main disciplines involved: seismic characterisation, applied geophysics, electromagnetic methods and 3D geological modelling. The Steering Committee operates in coordination with INGV Departments, in particular the Earthquake and Environment Departments.

The Centre's activities currently involve 37 researchers, technologists and technical collaborators from seven INGV structures. Personnel also participate in the international Einstein Telescope collaboration through the INGV Research Unit, coordinated by Marco Olivieri (INGV Bologna).
