On Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October 2026, the Centre for Geophysical Characterisation for the Einstein Telescope (CCGET) will take part in the Lula edition of Autunno in Barbagia, bringing together the celebration of local traditions and the promotion of major international scientific research.
Throughout the weekend, CCGET will host an information stand near the Environmental Education Centre in Piazza Costituzione.
Researchers from the Institute will meet residents and visitors to explain the geophysical monitoring and site characterisation activities underway in Sardinia to support the area’s bid to host Einstein Telescope (ET), Europe’s future gravitational-wave observatory. The event will also offer a first look at the initial results of the helicopter-borne geophysical survey carried out in May 2026.
The Einstein Telescope Infopoint will also be open to the public, providing another opportunity to learn about the project’s current status, future prospects, and scientific, cultural and socioeconomic impact on Sardinia and the local community.
The initiative offers a valuable opportunity for dialogue between the scientific community and local residents.
