On May 7th, at 7:00 PM, a public meeting will be held at the Council Chamber of the Municipality of Orune to inform the local community about the purpose and methods of the helicopter geophysical survey that will fly over the skies of Barbagia starting from May 15th. The technology used will allow us to gather information about the subsoil in order to improve our understanding of the geological and hydrogeological structure of the area selected to host the future Einstein Telescope.
Speakers will include Giovanna Porcu, Mayor of Orune; Raffaele Marras, Consultant to the Autonomous Region of Sardinia for ET; Vincenzo Sapia, Scientific Coordinator of the INGV helicopter survey; and Stefania Da Pelo, Associate Professor of Applied Geology at the University of Cagliari.
